Avelo is doubling down on its base in Wilmington, Delaware, asserting 9 new routes from town in what the service is asking its greatest single enlargement since launching in 2021.

With the addition of 9 new routes, Avelo will fly to a complete of 14 cities from Wilmington. Avelo already operates flights to 5 Florida cities — Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Seaside — from Wilmington Airport (ILG).

The enlargement additionally marks the biggest variety of locations ILG has supplied in its historical past, in response to an Avelo spokesperson.

When Avelo arrived in Wilmington to nice fanfare in February, it was unclear if the service would achieve success within the metropolis, which has usually solely obtained intermittent industrial air service.   • Melbourne Orlando Worldwide Airport (MLB), beginning June 28 and flying on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • Myrtle Seaside Worldwide Airport (MYR), beginning June 23 and flying on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Nashville Worldwide Airport (BNA), beginning June 22 and flying on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Raleigh-Durham Worldwide Airport (RDU), beginning June 22 and flying on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Savannah/Hilton Head Worldwide Airport (SAV), beginning June 28 and flying on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • North Carolina’s Wilmington Worldwide Airport (ILM), beginning June 22 and flying on Thursdays and Sundays.
