About Us
The Get to Know Africa Corporation is an educational 501c3 nonprofit organization, created in the United State Of America by a group of young Africans with the purpose of promoting Africa in the US.
We believe that to create an impact on society and change perceptions, the role of the media within the broader framework of the social, cultural, political, and economic power structures of society is very important. The media primarily has the potential to influence to some extent the minds of readers and viewers. That’s why we created the television program Get To Know Africa.
Our Mission
For a long time, Africans have been voiceless when it comes to talk about Africa, we believe voices have the power to shape culture, beliefs and history when heard.
Our mission is to change the misconceptions that Americans have about Africa, fostered by the influence of unbalanced reports from major media sources that only emphasize negative aspects of Africa, instead of emphasizing the good things about Africa.
We are here to tell the other side of the story, show the good aspects of Africa and the African people and clarify many misconceptions about Africa in the voice of Africans.
Get To Know Africa is here to present dynamic programing of many untold stories, interviews, and debates about Africa.
