Former President Donald Trump’s trial on prices of mishandling labeled paperwork will start on Could 20, 2024, a federal choose ordered Friday.
Choose Aileen Cannon laid out the schedule three days after protection attorneys argued that the case shouldn’t head to trial till after the November 2024 presidential election, on account of Trump’s standing as a present presidential candidate.
The ruling from Cannon, a Trump appointee, lands on a center floor between the requests of Trump’s authorized group and the Division of Justice, which had pushed for the trial to start in late 2023.
