The Ministry of ICT (MICT) has lately, along with UNESCO and the Web Scientific Society, held consultative conferences to evaluate how greatest to develop insurance policies and create sensible initiatives enabling Namibia to enhance its Web ecosystem.

Namibia is the primary Southern African nation to do that, and it reveals it understands and realizes the significance of assessing the Web universality indicators. Mainly, it checks to see how our nation is doing concerning how insurance policies and digital improvement are taking form.

Like all know-how, the Web is just not a static factor; it’s exceedingly dynamic and must be continually improved and upgraded to make sure it’s accessible to as many Namibians as doable. This implies there should be insurance policies in place, and it must be accessible for individuals with disabilities and out there to all Namibians.

The Web might be the good equalizer and the driving force of our knowledge-based economic system. Nonetheless, with out surveying and assessing the place we stand, we can’t make suggestions and take the steps wanted to enhance and let the Web evolve.

Because the world strikes in the direction of Cloud-based options, Synthetic Intelligence, and Utility-driven know-how and services and products, there’s a nice pressure on the Web day by day. Suppose Namibia desires to be the world-class ICT vacation spot it envisages and reap the financial advantages from that. In that case, it’s important the Authorities and stakeholders, akin to ourselves, know the place funding must be made.

ICT and the Web could be a nice equalizer and, if harnessed correctly, may also help flip round a nation’s economic system, driving its improvement and innovation. With the growth in oil & gasoline taking severe form, we want to have the ability to provide buyers, builders, and people managing something from small-scale initiatives to multi-billion-dollar initiatives a steady and superior Web ecosystem. One that’s future-proof and a part of the general answer to the expansion we need to see within the Namibian economic system reasonably than be a limiting issue.

The honorable Minister of ICT, Peya Mushelenga, final month stated that low funding in ICT and the dearth of certified ICT professionals pose essentially the most vital obstacles to increasing the ICT Business in Namibia.

Inexperienced Enterprise Options is aware of that funding is important and is heartened by the consultative conferences and the outcomes and insurance policies that spring forth from this evaluation. We sit up for supporting the Ministry of ICT and dealing with all stakeholders to develop the expansion and leveraging of the Web potentialities and alternatives for the nice of all Namibians.
