“Given the technological developments and the geopolitical context, the federal government has come to the conclusion that the prevailing export management framework for particular gear used for the manufacture of semiconductors must be expanded, within the pursuits of nationwide and worldwide safety,” the nation’s International Commerce Minister Liesje Schreinemacher stated in a letter to parliament Wednesday.
