Boeing mentioned a brand new manufacturing flaw on its best-selling 737 Max planes will delay deliveries of the best-selling plane.

The corporate mentioned it discovered fastener holes on the aft stress bulkhead on some 737 planes have been improperly drilled. Spirit Aerosystems, which makes the fuselages, didn’t instantly remark.

“This concern will affect near-term 737 deliveries as we conduct inspections to find out the variety of airplanes affected, and full required rework on these airplanes,” Boeing mentioned.

The corporate mentioned the problem was not associated to flight security.

Boeing shares have been down greater than 3% in after-hours buying and selling.
