BEIJING — Baidu’s ChatGPT-like product is about to come back to electrical, assisted-driving vehicles, startup Jidu stated Tuesday.

Jidu, backed by Baidu and Geely, is utilizing Baidu’s Apollo system for the in-car person interface and assisted driving tech. The startup plans to ship its first automotive this yr.

Jidu plans to make use of Apollo with Baidu’s ChatGPT-like product, referred to as Ernie bot in English, the startup stated.

The mixed tech goals to enhance customers’ interactivity with the automotive, the startup stated. So-called sensible vehicles like Jidu’s deliberate mannequin sometimes embody voice management.

Baidu stated final week it expects to finish inside testing of its Ernie bot in March earlier than opening it to public use. It stays unclear how the product’s talents evaluate with ChatGPT’s, which is developed by Microsoft-backed OpenAI.
