More than 60 Feared Dead After Boat Accident Off Cape Verde

Greater than 60 migrants are believed to have died after a ship carrying them from Senegal capsized within the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Verde, the authorities stated this week.

The boat capsized in some unspecified time in the future after leaving Senegal on July 10, the Reuters information company reported on Wednesday, citing the Senegalese International Ministry.

A Spanish fisherman discovered the boat floating about 150 miles north of Cape Verde’s Salt Island, the nation’s nationwide police stated on Monday. The islands of Cape Verde lie a number of hundred miles west of Senegal.

Thirty-eight individuals survived the accident, together with 4 kids, Safa Msehli, a spokeswoman for the United Nations migration company, stated in a quick e mail on Thursday. She stated seven individuals had been confirmed useless and 56 others had been nonetheless lacking.
