Kamala Harris Says Moscow Committed Crimes Against Humanity in Ukraine

Vice President Kamala Harris confused that Russia should be held to account for its “barbaric” actions in Ukraine, telling a safety convention in Munich on Saturday that the USA had formally decided that Moscow’s forces had dedicated crimes in opposition to humanity.

Ms. Harris was amongst a lot of Western officers, together with Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, projecting unwavering resolve in help for Ukraine on the annual Munich Safety Convention simply days forward of the primary anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

The vice chairman famous how, a yr earlier on the similar convention, she had warned of the upcoming Russian invasion of Ukraine. On the time, Ms. Harris stated, many questioned how the West would reply and if Ukraine can be ready.

The vice chairman referred to her expertise as a prosecutor in saying that “we have now examined the proof and “there is no such thing as a doubt” that Russia has dedicated crimes in opposition to humanity in Ukraine.

“And I say to all those that have perpetrated these crimes and to their superiors who’re complicit in these crimes, you can be held to account,” she stated.

Ms. Harris spoke as Russia has been stepping up its offensive in japanese Ukraine, and the vice chairman acknowledged that Ukrainians and trans-Atlantic unity would proceed to be examined.

“There can be extra darkish days in Ukraine,” she stated, including: “But when Putin thinks he can wait us out, he’s badly mistaken. Time isn’t on his facet.”
