Police within the northern England city of Knowsley, Merseyside, arrested three individuals on Friday after violence broke out throughout a protest exterior a lodge used to accommodate asylum seekers.

Merseyside Police mentioned these arrested have been being held “on suspicion of violent dysfunction and brought to police stations to be questioned.”

The protest, sparked by a video filmed close to the lodge, had began peacefully, police mentioned, however the scenario later grew to become tense and projectiles have been thrown on the officers.

Movies shared on-line Friday from the world appeared to indicate officers in riot gear with massive shields and a police automobile set ablaze.

The police mentioned they have been coping with two teams of protesters after an indication descended into chaos exterior the Suites Resort in Ribblers Lane.
