CNN
 —

The US navy and Syrian Democratic Forces performed a helicopter raid in japanese Syria early Saturday, capturing an ISIS official, in line with a press release from US Central Command.

Batar, “an ISIS Syria Province Official concerned in planning assaults on SDF-guarded detention facilities and manufacturing improvised explosive units,” was captured within the raid, CENTCOM stated in the assertion.

The US didn’t present any further data or proof concerning its claims about Batar.

No civilians, SDF or US forces have been killed or injured within the raid, in line with CENTCOM.

The event comes on the heels of an earlier helicopter raid in Syria on Thursday evening that the US navy stated killed Hamza al-Homsi, a senior ISIS chief, in addition to wounded 4 US troops and a working canine.

Officers informed CNN that US forces have been “near” al-Homsi when an explosion occurred, killing al-Homsi and wounding the US service members. It’s unclear at this level if the explosion was the results of a suicide vest, a booby lure or one thing else, two officers stated.

Individually, US Central Command stated in a press release Saturday night that two rockets had landed close to a coalition base in northeast Syria.

No US or coalition troops have been injured and no injury to tools or infrastructure occurred in the course of the rocket assault that focused Inexperienced Village, a coalition base in northeast Syria.

US forces are investigating the incident.

This story has been up to date with further developments.
